200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Terms & Conditions

ENROLMENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

By enrolling in the 200 hour YTT program you agree to these terms and conditions Enrolment in the YTT Program is a commitment to the full course duration and all its outlined requirements. By enrolling you agree to attend all classes and complete all coursework to the best of your ability. Students must submit 100% of all coursework submissions to pass this course. COURSE FEES & REFUNDS: Full The Zen Den 200HR YTT Fees are $3333. Early Bird Special pricing $2999. If paying the full course fee, Or Early bird special, this fee must be paid in full on enrolment. If choosing to pay via Ezidebit, the arrangement must be set up and in place prior to commencing the program with verification from Ezidebit. Course fees and part thereof are non-refundable and non-transferable. Students who have paid course fees in full or in part, who are un-enrolled due to failure to submit course work, or who have a change in circumstance, or mind, and wish to discontinue their course, will forfeit their course fee. Full or partial Refunds will ONLY be granted in exceptional circumstances and a written request must be submitted to The Zen Den principal. Students using external payment agencies on payment plans, who are un-enrolled due to failure to attend, or who have a change in circumstance, or mind, and wish to discontinue their course, will still be required to honour their payment plan and payout their course fee or part thereof. This is because expenses will have been incurred in view of the student’s expected participation. Budgets will have been set in anticipation of the student’s commitment to the payment plan and because the student has committed to filling a place in the class that cannot be allocated to another student after the commencement of the course, thereby denying The Zen Den the ability to recoup the funds through any other means. We will always do our best to assist students to complete the course and may offer alternatives in some extreme circumstances, to assist students in financial difficulty, however this cannot be guaranteed in all situations. Please talk to us if you need further information or assistance. Course fees are to be paid via online bank deposit or credit card online and is required on enrolment. Places cannot be held for enrolments submitted without an accompanying payment.

SPECIAL CASES: In case a trainee needs to withdraw from the program due to illness, accident, death in the family, or other circumstances that make it impractical for the trainee to complete the course, the program will provide a reasonable and fair refund, or allocate the trainee’s tuition towards a subsequent training at the principals discretion.

BAD CONDUCT: No refunds will be given if the program removes a trainee from the program for bad conduct. Bad conduct is a violation of the Code of Conduct, harassment, bullying, or any other behaviour that is inappropriate or disruptive to the welfare of the program or to fellow trainees.

DEFERRALS, EXPULSIONS AND CLASS CANCELLATION: Students who cannot participate in the course due to illness or other extenuating circumstances, may be able to defer to a later course date, at the principals discretion. In the unlikely event we are unable to deliver the course due to circumstances beyond our control, the course may be put on hold and deferred to a later date which will be as soon as possible. Class cancellations: In the very unlikely event that a class needs to be deferred due to circumstances beyond our control, students will be notified via text message, email and through the Zen Dens Facebook page, and or the 200 Hr YTT Community group page. In the event of any circumstances beyond our control which require classes to be cancelled, fees will not be refunded, and every effort will be made to deliver the training course via an alternative method. Should The Teacher training be impacted by Health or government regulations The Zen Den will endeavour to offer suitable alternatives such as online zoom lectures or a local immersion venue to maintain the consistency of the course quality to our best ability. Should the Teacher Training be already underway we will discuss options and always do our best to ensure You get the best experience for your Teacher Training. However, we cannot offer full refunds if the course has already commenced. The Zen Den is not liable for any expenses occurred in preparation for any cancelled training such as airline tickets, loss of work and or any other costs associated with preparation for your Yoga Teacher Training. Any student who uses behaviour that is offensive, upsetting, aggressive or disruptive to the class (online or in-person) may be expelled after two warnings have been issued in writing, outlining the nature of the unsuitable behaviour. If a student is expelled, no refund of any course fees already paid will be available and no graduation certificates will be issued. While all care and due diligence are taken, please be advised that in the unlikely event that any harm or injury is caused by the practical application of any information or instruction supplied by The Zen Den and their employees and representatives can accept no liability. Information supplied is not intended to replace medical advice. This course is not suitable for people who are currently experiencing extreme mental health issues as some activities may cause emotional triggers. In agreeing to these terms and conditions you are stating that you are not aware of any mental health issues and that you are not currently receiving treatment for a mental health issue.

GRIEVANCE & COMPLAINTS POLICY: Grievance Definition Grievance is defined as any complaint, problem, or concern. Can be filed for any of the following reasons, but are not limited to:

● Harassment

● Health and safety

● Behaviour

● Adverse changes – without sufficient notice.

● Less important issues can be addressed informally and in person before a grievance form is submitted.

Procedure: The person with the grievance or complaint are encouraged to talk to the other party to resolve their problems. When this isn’t possible, the following is how to file a grievance: 1. Communicate informally with the direct person concerned FIRST and request an informal meeting to resolve the grievance as quickly as possible. When they’re unable to do so, they should refer the grievance to the principal and cooperate with all other procedures. 2. Accommodate the procedure outlined below:

Ask the complaining party to complete the grievance form.

The principal will talk with the complaining party to ensure the matter is understood completely.
Provide the person of concern who faces allegations with a copy of the grievance.

Organise mediation procedures (e.g. arrange a formal meeting).

Investigate the matter or ask the help of an investigator when needed.

Keep all parties informed throughout the process.

Communicate the formal decision to all persons involved.

Take actions to ensure the formal decision is adhered to.

Deal with appeals by gathering more information and investigating further.

Keep accurate records.

In the event a grievance cannot be resolved internally an external mediator will be engaged. This procedure accompanies the Grievance Form. This procedure may vary according to the nature of a grievance.

APPEALS: if the dispute is unsuccessfully resolved at mediation level.

• Either party has the right to appeal and must provide the reason for the appeal in writing within a reasonable time of mediation having occurred.

• An objective third party will be drawn together to adjudicate, review the grounds for appeal and make a final decision based on the grievance or complaint.

• The appeals panel will advise both parties, in writing, of any action, legal or otherwise that may need to be taken.

• A member of the appeals panel will follow up with both parties after the appeals has conclude to confirm the level of satisfaction with the process.

• Either party has the right to involve legal representation in the appeals process.

Behaviour & Code of Conduct – Teacher Trainers & Students. We acknowledge the unique and sensitive nature of the student-teacher relationship and recognise that ethical behaviour is the foundation of all good Yoga practice and Yoga teacher training. We believe that it is the responsibility of the Yoga teacher to ensure a safe environment in which a student can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Our Code of Ethics lists important principles of conduct that guide our ethical and professional behaviour. It is intended to serve as a basis for Yoga ethics for our teachers and students and corresponds with the recommendations of Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras, Yamas and Niyamas. As teacher trainers of The Zen Den 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training we agree to uphold the highest professional standards as set forth in the following Code of Ethics.

• We welcome all students with respect and friendliness and do not discriminate against or refuse professional help to anyone on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or national origin.

• We make only realistic statements regarding the benefits of Yoga, make responsible decisions to determine if and when we can assist a student, and use our yogic knowledge and skills only for their benefit.

• We provide rehabilitative and therapeutic instruction only for those problems or issues that are within the reasonable boundaries and scope of our competence.

• We do not misrepresent our professional qualifications and promote our services with accuracy and dignity. • We always establish and maintain professional relationship boundaries.

• We understand that all forms of sexual behaviour or harassment with students is unethical and use only appropriate methods of touch when assisting and adjusting students.

• The training school, The Zen Den, reserves the right to make changes to the program including but not limited to course content, schedule, and instructors, provided sufficient time is given.

• We respect the rights, dignity, and privacy of all students, and treat all communications from students with professional confidence. Students have the right to:

• Pursue their training in an environment that is without harassment or discrimination.

• Be always treated with respect, dignity, and fairness.

• Expect confidentiality in all personal matters.

• Have their learning needs known and addressed by the teacher.

• Receive training and assessment from competent and experienced teachers.

• Appeal an assessment decision and be re-assessed if found not yet competent after initial assessment. It is the responsibility of the student to:

• Ensure that all current policies and procedures at a training venue are understood and adhered to.

• Seek clarification from the course director if a policy or procedure is not understood.

• Attend all classes in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.

• Respect the rights of other students, clients, and employees of a training venue.

• The teachings and materials provided during the 200-hour YTT program are confidential and may not be shared, duplicated, used, or shared for commercial purposes without the written consent of the school.

• Not be disruptive at any time during class.

• Keep confidential any information of a personal nature obtained during the Courses.

• Make all reasonable efforts to achieve the competencies specified in the training plan and take advantage of all learning opportunities.

• Maintain a true record of practice in a learning log/Yoga journal. Any behaviour that is not in line with the above outlined code of conduct will not be tolerated and may result in immediate dismissal from the training.

CERTIFICATION: Upon completion of the 200 Hr YTT course, you will receive a certificate of completion. The Zen Den reserves the right to withhold certification if you do not meet the standards set by the school. If you do not meet the standards, you will be given points that need to be reviewed and addressed and the opportunity to rebook an assessment with your teachers.

HOMEWORK: It is recommended you spend a minimum of 5 hours a week reviewing your manual, answering workshop questions, and integrating the practices you have learnt on campus days. And to read through the recommended reading pertaining to the syllabus. You are also required to maintain your own daily practice
